Marriage and Divorce Statistics in Türkiye 2025

According to the 2025 data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the average first marriage age in Türkiye reached 28.5 for men and 26.0 for women. This means the average age gap between men and women at first marriage was calculated as 2.5 years.

The statistics also show regional differences across the country. Some provinces have noticeably higher age gaps between men and women when they get married.

The province with the highest age difference between men and women at first marriage was Kars with 3.8 years. It was followed by Ağrı, Ardahan and Muş with around 3.7 years.

On the other hand, the lowest age difference was recorded in Kastamonu with 1.9 years, followed by Ankara and Karabük.

The crude divorce rate in Türkiye was reported as 2.26 per thousand in 2025. This statistical indicator represents the number of divorces per 1,000 people in the population.

The highest divorce rate was recorded in İzmir with 3.28 per thousand, followed by Antalya with 3.21 and Denizli with 3.14. The lowest divorce rate was observed in Hakkari with 0.51 per thousand.
